2014 AAKF Spring National Seminar

The AAKF Great Lakes Region and the Northwestern University Karate club are proud to host the 2014 AAKF Spring National Seminar on April 25 to 27 in on the Northwestern University campus in Evanston, IL. 12 hours of intensive training with some of the most experienced instructors in Traditional Karate provide a unique opportunity for karateka of various skill levels and experience to improve their understanding of the martial art.

• Workout Sessions
The scheduled workouts are:
Friday, April 25 - 6 pm to 9 pm
Saturday, April 26 - morning session 9 am to 12:30 pm, and afternoon session 1:30 pm to 5 pm
Sunday, April 27 - 8:00 am to 10 am

• Registration Information
You can register and pay online, or please print and fill out the registration form, part of the seminar information package and mail the checks payable to AAKF Great Lakes Region, Inc., c/o Vassil Peytchev, 2914 Interlaken Pass, Madison, WI 53719. Note the "early bird" registration deadline of April 16 for postmarked registrations, and April 23 for online registration and payment:
  • AAKF members: $120 for the whole seminar, or $40 per session
  • After the above registration deadline, the registration fee for AAKF members will be $150 for the whole seminar, or $50 per session
  • Non-AAKF members will pay additional $30 to the fees listed above
  • All current USA Team members can attend free of charge

• Hotel Information
We have arranged for special rates with two local hotels through Hotels.com. Please visit the seminar event page for booking information. Note the following details:

  1. The Holiday Inn offers rooms with two double beds. The Crowne Plaza hotel offers rooms with one King bed, and a pullout Queen-size sofa sleeper.
  2. The Holiday Inn is a little closer to the training location. They have a cut-off date of April 11, but will continue offering the special rate after that if there is still availability.
  3. The Holiday Inn offers one free breakfast per room, while the Crowne Plaza offers up to 4 free breakfasts per room.
  4. Both hotels offer free parking.
  5. At the bottom of the events page, you can also find special discounts for rental cars.
